Jef Ausloos is a doctoral researcher at the University of Leuven, Faculty of Law (Centre for IT & IP Law). He has worked both in academia and civil society organisations in Hong Kong and the USA and holds law degrees from the University of Namur (B.A.), University of Leuven (M.A.) and University of Hong Kong (LL.M). Jef Ausloos has written on a variety of topics in the area of privacy law and media law. Currently, his research focuses on issues that lie at the intersection of privacy and data protection, freedom of expression and intermediary liability on the internet. In his PhD, Jef Ausloos is looking more closely at the distribution of control over personal data between online corporate entities and data subjects.
